CLFMA organizes “Dairy Business 2020” seminar in Kolhapur in association with Gokul Dairy



 Kolhapur,29th January 2016: CLFMA of India organized ‘Dairy Business 2020’, a knowledge sharing seminar in association with Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd. (Gokul Dairy). The seminar had two sessions. The morning session had technical talks by experts on various topics dealing with best practices in dairy farming, increasing milk yield, hygienic milk collection, nutrition etc. The second session in the afternoon had farmers from Kolhapur share their experiences and success stories. S V Bhave, Deputy Chairman, CLFMA and MD, Berg and Schmidt India said, “India has set a target of increasing milk production to 190 million metric tonnes by 2020. To reach this target, farmers across the nation will need to take forward the co-operative nature of this industry to another level through knowledge sharing of best practices. CLFMA has been contributing by organising very successful seminars across India with a unique format. In the same programme we bring in experts from across sectors to highlight new technology available, innovation in dairy practices and advances in fodder and nutrients. We also invite successful farmers to share their experiences with others. These have been the main contributors to the success of the seminars.” Shri. Vishwas Patil, Chairman, Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd. was the chief guest. He said, “Kolhapur has always been a major contributor to India’s White Revolution. Our farmers are at the forefront of technology and we have been looking to increase our average per animal productivity to ensure sustainability of the industry. With seminars like this, all the farmers in the co-operative learn various aspects from experts as well as other successful farmers.” Along with senior dignitaries from the Corporate world huge no of progressive farmers also participated with taking the total participants no to 260+. Till date CLFMA has reached out to over 2000 farmers through seminars in Pune, Karnal and Ludhiana and will continue organising seminars in Dairy sector across the country.
